Current information about staying safe and well during COVID-19 – April Update

Latest guidance – as of Friday 26th of March 2021

From 6pm on Friday 26 March, Victoria will relax its COVIDSafe settings.

This means you can have more visitors in your home and mask wearing rules are changing.
You will still need to wear a mask when visiting Your Community Health Centres and remember to keep 1.5 metres between you and others at all times.

Mask Wearing Update

The following restrictions also apply:

  • You can have up to 100 visitors to your home per day. This includes children over 12 months old.
  • Up to 200 people can meet outdoors in a public place. This includes children over 12 months old.

Face mask guidelines:

  • You must carry a face mask with you when you leave home.
  • Face masks must be worn unless an exception applies:
    • On public transport, in taxis and ride share vehicles, and in tour vehicles
    • by visitors to a hospital or care facility (while indoors)
    • if you are diagnosed with COVID-19, or you are a close contact of someone diagnosed with COVID-19, and are leaving your home or accommodation for a permitted reason, such as medical care or to get tested
    • while awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test when leaving your home or accommodation for a permitted reason, such as medical care (except as part of a surveillance or other asymptomatic testing program)
    • while experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • It is strongly recommended you wear a face mask when at a private gathering or when you cannot maintain
    1.5 metres distance from other people. For full details read the latest COVIDSafe Summer guidance.

Other general guidance

At home testing:

If you can’t leave home to get tested for COVID-19 someone can come to you. This service is for:

  • People with an injury, chronic health issue, or frailty affecting mobility
    People with moderate to severe physical or psychosocial disability
    People with moderate to severe mental health or behavioural issues not otherwise classified
    as a psychosocial disability
    Carers for a person with moderate to severe disability
  • Individuals without symptoms who have been identified by DHHS as a close contact, have
    received direction from DHHS to get tested, and also meet any of the above criteria.

Call 1800 675 398 and select option 9. You can call seven days a week between 9am and 5pm.

We are continuing to offer a health and social services to the community. While there have been some changes since the pandemic, we are working very hard to support our community members and keep everyone informed on COVID-19 changes.
